Football Transfer Rumour Discussion

Well its been confirmed Thierry Henry is back at Arsenal for 2 months.. He maybe 34 but I still think he's a fantastic asset to Arsenal over the next 2 months.. (Wish United would sign Beckham for 6 months!!!)

Other rumours which are way out of left field are Lampard to Manchester United which was quite confusing..

What are your opinions of the transfer window and who would you like to see your club sign?

Blackburns Chris Samba to QPR for 5million seems a bargain!

Thoughts and opinions please.

Henry was a class striker for Arsenal and his presence will maybe help kick Start Arsenals Season, It's been confirmed that Lampard is not on his way to Manchester United according to the manager which is a shame as United need some new players if they want to keep the title.

I wouldn't want Lampard at Man Utd anyway lol.

Henry back at Arsenal could get their season back on track like Teddy said

Liverpool really needs a right back as Glen sucks this season. I'd love to see Podolski joining them too, but as a typical German transfer policy, they will keep him in Koln and ruin his career.

As for Arsenal's Henry, I think he can add something to the team, but he wont be making any miracles.
I hope the move does them good and don't turn out to be a disastrous move like R.Pires to Villa.

Having completed the loan signing of Manchester United striker Federico Macheda earlier this week, Neil Warnock is now hoping to bring in Samba.

The Hoops boss has been linked with unsettled Chelsea defender Alex but was keen not to speculate.

"We have a number of people we're looking at," he said. "I won't be commenting on anybody. It is not fair really."

"We're looking at a number of players and we need experience in certain positions and also we need goals."

"There are a couple of ingredients we're looking at and we're trying to improve as many areas as we can in the squad."

I think Henry could have an impact like Henrik Larsson did at 36 years old at Man Utd.. He was only there for 2 months but he's gone down as a United great aswell as a Celtic legend.. Podolski would be a shrewd signing by any team.. But.. I would love to see Bastian Schweinsteiger at Man United.. What a treat that would be!

I'm a crazy German fan, and I'd be full of joy if Bastian joins United. He just fits there!

United do need central midfielders, defenders and a striker!! (Chicharito has been cold this season)

They've only got;
Carrick
Anderson
Giggs (38)

Who are fit central midfielders! Vidic is out aswell so I'd replace him! If I was Fergie I would swoop for Samba or Cahill as Vidic cover I'd love to see United sign Schweinsteiger although it won't happen.. I'd maybe go for Yohan Cabaye or Rodwell just to keep the central midfield ticking over.. Podolski would be a good addition..

Its hard to even think of a strong starting line up for United at the moment..

Larsson, a United legend? Thats a bit much ain't it?

To be fair to Arsenal, i think they got their season back on track a while ago. At least RVP did, single handedly.

I doubt much major business will be done. As Fergie always says, its rare that quality is available in January, and you have to pay way over the odds if it is. Although it wouldnt surprise me if United made one big signing, like a Jack Rodwell or something out of the blue.

Fergie signed Evra and Vidic in January 2005 and we see how important they are to Man United.. I think Fergie will spring a suprise and it will be a big name.. I wouldn't write of Lampard joining just yet either.. We know he's a sub for Chelsea.. AVB might offload him..

He was great! He influenced a young United side to go on and win the first 1 of 3 premier league titles back to back.. he scored important goals.

Larrson did well back then, no one can deny it. As for transfers, I really don't see Fergie bringing in any big names. Hes stubborn and gonna wait till the summer.
Tejuarr is right, Manchester r in urgent need of a central midfielder and a cover defender. I don't know what went wrong for Chicharito or Welbeck also.
