Sorry, i didn't realise there were 2 threads. As for the car, i will be the idiot who chose the aston martin lmp1 :20: when everybody normal chose the p30. My only chance therefore is to hope to stretch the fuel into a 2 stop strategy :32: (i'm assuming the p30s will make 3)

You've been placed in the GT group Luke. Nitro, your first reserve.

This will be a long event guys. Please ensure you are committed to trying to complete it, and not drop out after 40 mins, so we can ensure the limited grid slots go to those who really want to have a go at the full distance.

I should have ask about this earlier as we need to agree everything as soon as possible. Just want everyone to have equal chance to fight against each other and to have enough time to practice with correct lobby settings.

Do we allow or ban assists? LMP1 and GT3 cars are relative easy to drive even without any assists.

I know some of you use all available assists there is and drive with a pad but I would like to get some of them banned so that game doesn't do driving 70-80% for you and there would be a chance to make driver errors. Simplyfied when using all assists all you need to do is full throttle, full brake, turn, full throttle, full brake, turn...

I would suggest that we ban at least stability control and driving line. With traction control and ABS we can go what majority wants.

Stability control keeps car facing right direction and prevent it for spinning around. When using stability control and traction control it is almost impossible to lose control of your car without clear mistake or driver error and it gives you a big advantage in race distance as you just need to keep your car on the black stuff and it will go like it is on rails. Also with stability and traction controls on you will be 1000 times less likely to make any sort of error that will make you lose time than without any assists.

Banning driving line will make drivers need to be more aware what happens around them, where they are on track and also it will reward drivers who take time to learn the track and know where to brake for corners.

I know some of you have been using it for many years and are so use to it that you can't drive without it. But at least try to drive without it. All of you are good enough to drive without driving line if you really want to. In my opinion it is just a distraction as it blocks your view forward and it is not correct every corner and most likely it will just cost you more time for making you to brake in wrong place.

It is much more rewarding when you know that everything that happens is your own doing and not the game deciding what happens next.

Also are we using clear weather only or do we use random weather with possible rain showers? Night time and rain could be interesting...

One combination makes me think if you're kidding :)
Pad + no assists,+ rain + night = LOL
if you happen to be far from the pits on this 13+km long track .. nobody could even get to the pits when it starts to rain, i know this because with friends we've been racing PC a lot with damage on.

Was trying GT3 with no assists and pad in a normal 45 minutes race (a few races) and it's not fun because with pad you can't feel the car as much and a tiny bump which you don't feel sends you spinning in the wall, I think maybe the LMP1 is a bit better but can't be much.

In this 2 hours is plenty of time to f*ck up on your own.
Slice and dice..

I completely agree Juho. Stability control is just plain cheating, annoys me that they even allow it in games. The racing line being off just allows for much better racing, more unpredictability. I'm all for those changes. For the record, I don't use any assists.
