Gran Turismo Sport Discussion [PS4]

Yesterday during Sony's Paris Games Week conference they announced Gran Turismo Sport. Gran Turismo Sport will be having a beta in Spring 2016 and the full game will release in 2016. They have also announced that it will be compatible with Playstation VR. The only other details they have given at this stage is that there will be two championships you can compete in. One of the championships is the Nations Cup where you will compete for your nation and the other is the Manufacturers Cup where you will compete for a manufacturer. It seems this Gran Turismo is not Gran Tursimo 7 and it is more than a prologue. They seem to be promoting their partnership with the FIA a lot and they said the winner of the championships will be able to attend the FIA prize giving ceremony.

IMO it seems that Gran Turismo Sport is going to be a little bit like GT Academy but bigger. It seems to have a big focus around online and online championships.

The trailer is here:

I've watched Southampton play at Dagenham & Redbridge in League 1 and at the San Siro in the Europa League in the space of 7 years.

Gran Turismo Sport’s FIA Digital Licensing Requirements

Completion of GT Sport’s “Racing Etiquette Mode”, which includes guides and tests on the following:
Signals
Flags
Safety Car protocols
Cautions
Proper driving conduct and etiquette
Acheive “silver” or better results in all of GT Sport’s “Campaign Mode” events
Maintain a certain level of Driver Class and Sportsmanship Points.

In addition to these requirements, drivers may be required to pay a licensing fee to the governing body of motorsport in their country. “We [Gran Turismo] won’t be taking any money for it, but to the FIA or your local automobile club, you may need to pay an annual fee, which is normal for any racing license,” Kazunori said.

Sounds ok imo.

I'm in two minds about this, is it a gimmick which will flop or will it be the start of something really revolutionary. It'll be interesting either way.

Jim will be looking into what leagues can be done with this when it releases, rekindling his directorship of the GT leagues.

They love to troll the fans don't they.
To be honest, it just sounded like every other game. Which is no bad thing in some respects, but it didn't sound like they had addressed long term flaws, like sound and engine notes, and instead used the time to make even more pointless detail.

Seriously though, I'm not sure if that's true... I found this picture in a facebook page about GT and I was like: "WTF are they doing". Maybe it'll come out earlier but we have to do with PD here so you never know.... hahaha

Hello Sonam my friend! I hope life is well for you at the moment. I will continue to hold you to your promise to cook me a Greek banquet the next time i visit Greece!! ;)

Gran Turismo eh, what a farce. I would love to say that i am expecting GT Sport to be the best yet in everyway, but i just can't help but feel that yet again Kaz is focusing on pointless visual detail and other sideshows at the expense of being the best driving/racing game it can be. As for when it will release ... lol

Hey fish, happy new year my friend! Everything looks to be going ok for me right now, let's hope it stays that way cause things look weird for us down here, you've heard the news no need to say much...
Make sure you contact me if you're around and I'll make sure we have a good dinner together mate! I've done that already with Isaac and I know he had a great time hehe...  :113:

About GT, well I'm a long time fan of the series and this joke about the release dates in every game is something I don't take too seriously anymore. I'll wait for the game to come out whenever that is but I don't expect it at a certain moment <-- if that makes any sense. I mean I'm not impatient, I'll play it whenever it's ready.
I hope they do a good job and deliver a seriously good game or else I think I'll be buying myself an XBOX ONE......that forza though.... :21:
