I got the T300 last week and installed it today. Here are my first impressions...

The wheel was quickly mounted to my playseat since all the pre drilled holes fit the thrustmaster.  :113:
The steering wheel itself is a little bit bigger than the G27 and this has my preference. I always found the steering wheel of the G27 a bit to small which gave it a bit of a toylike look. Altough it certainly wasn’t a toy.
The T300 has all the buttons on the wheel which again has my preference since you don’t have to take off your hands of the wheel while racing and they’re all placed at the right position so no complaints there.

When hooked up to the PS3 the wheel is recognized as a Thrustmaster T500. I tested the wheel with F1 2013 and what a difference this wheel makes tot his game. The biggest difference is the amount of force feedback. On the G27 I had environmental effects set at 40% and feedback strength at 30%. Any higher and the wheel would rattle way to much if you went over a curb. With the T300 I can set both to 100% and now the FFB in F1 2013 goes from awful to very good. Curbs now give a smooth rumble and you can feel the road way better.  Steering also goes very smooth and the resistance of the wheel feels just perfect.
The only downside are the pedals which have no progression and in terms of quality sit between the pedals of the DFGT and the G27.

Overall so far very pleased with the wheel.  :)

Fantastic, thanks for taking the time to write your thoughts down. In terms of the pedals, are they noticeably worse than the G27? Both in use and build quality?

Where did you source it?

Got it online, there were multiple (dutch) retailers who got it in stock.
The pedals are similar to that of the dfgt in terms of build quality, it feels a bit plastic. In use I rate it just below the g27. There is more progression in those. But for me they Will do for now. Perhaps in the future I might upgrade to the pedalset t3pa, if i'm correct. According to a review of inside simracing those pedals are the best pedals from thrustmaster.

Interesting. If i get one, especially at the price found on Amazon (must be an error that) i think i would get upgraded pedals eventually. One good thing is that my Wheel Stand Pro would be compatiable, so i wouldn't need to buy another one of those.

When people say there is a lack of progression, is basically that when you press the accelerator or brake it is basically on or off, more or less, with very little in between.

I see the T300 has gone up £10 to £250 on Amazon now. Its has all the images added and made to look official as well now. So it looks like £250 is the price that seems to have been settled on. Alot, but not as bad as the £330 it was looking like at one point.

Roughly the same as the G25 and 27 when they were released i guess.

Yea, Monty mentioned that to me. The preordered price should stay at £240 though.

Interestingly, the same wheel , but in its Ferrari guise, is  still £250.

Those flappy paddles would piss me off, and apparently some of the internals are better.

But the T500 has been on the market longer, so in theory they  have

But the T500 has been on the market longer, so in theory they have fixed any issues. And it has better pedals.

I'm thinking about cancelling my order for this wheel, now that Project CARS isn't out till March 2015, and the next F1 game around the same time at the very earliest, this isn't going to be much point having it for nearly 6 months. I got a good preorder price, but I'm not sure. I could use the money to buy a few Christmas period titles instead (Assassins Creed and FarCry 4).

And hopefully in 6 months time Sony relent and allow logitech wheels etc for the PS4. (here's hoping anyway).

Plus you never know the price might come down, or they make some proper pedals for it ;)

I've sold the G25 now so I kind of hope not!! lol
Yea, hopefully in 6 months time the price will come down to around what I preordered for (£240).

You get Driveclub Jim, if so, any thoughts?
