Quick question on the above, wont affect me as i was last, but does this post race penalty system take into account actual in race penalties awarded to the driver?
If not, isnt this system penalising the driver twice for the same offence(s) ?
So for example, I received a +3 sec penalty from the game last night. Isnt an additional 7 partially penalising me twice? So instead of an extra 7 second penalty, wouldnt a post race penalty of 4 seconds be fairer?
I wasnt expecting much from this race as I am absoloutely horrofic in this "circuit". Managed to squeeze in a practice lap at the end of the session.
It was more a case of trying to survive more than trying to race around here in the hope of trying to pick up the odd point as people crashed out. Race did not start well as a broken wing within 3 laps meant an early pitstop, only to find my team mate in the pits and having to wait around 15 secods for him to finish.
Shortly after, a massive crash saw me break my wing and get a tyre puncture in the same incident. I was a long way back to the pits with lots of blue flags flying in my face. From then on, it was merely procession based trying to get through this hell forsaken, poor excuse of an F1 circuit which in my opinion should be scrapped from future calendars. As requested, Red Bull stocked up with plenty of front wings for me, as in total i had to pit 6 times. With TineDine crashing out, it was all in all a day to forget for Red Bull
Though the only positive I can take from the day was my succesful navigation of blue flags as i was able to safely leave the quicker guys pass me without incidents, which is another headache in itself around Monaco.
1). Who will win on the streets of Monte Carlo? BigC, Lordy or Remco 2). Who will be the surprise package in Monaco? TineDine 3). Will Remco bottle another race win? Hopefully not 4). Favourite corner at Monaco? None, i dispise the circuit (will probably smash the car to bits within 3 laps)
This season, Red Bull have gone abroad in search of top racing talent and have landed in the small British penninsular of Gibraltar. Located in Southern Europe on the tip of the Spanish mainland, Gibraltar is fast becoming a hotbed of F1 talent as drivers ElFortu42 (Julian) and TineDine (Dylan) have been signed up in what looks like a long term strategy for the Milton Keynes based outfit. With both drivers being fluent English and Spanish speakers, Red Bull are also keen to market themselves in Spanish speaking areas such as Central and Latin America
Despite their lack of experience at this level, both drivers are eager to test themelves against their more illustrious counterparts in the F2 league. Dylan is a multiple league champion in Gibraltar whilst Julian consistently finishes in the top 4 positions in their local league.
Despite this being an obvious step up in class, both drivers will be trying to mix it up against the best and put in some respectable performances.
Julian: We have been looking to a chance to test ourselves internationally as the competition back in Gibraltar appeared to be waning of late. Ever since it was confirmed we were part of the Red Bull F2 setup, I have been putting in the laps in the simulator in order to improve my on track performances. Yesterday, we did an online 50% race simulation in Bahrain where both Dylan and myself jumped into the Red Bull and managed to bring home a 1,2 for the team. I was chuffed to beat Dylan as he is a very strong driver but we have a job to do for the team and this is whats most important. I know the F2 guys will be another kettle of fish but atleast this is a step in the right direction. I cant wait for race night.
Dylan: Im Delighted to be given a seat at Red Bull for my rookie season, I hadn't done a 50% distance before last night's test and after finishing 2nd, I can't wait to show what I am capable of on the track.
