Sounds like you'll be around St. Johnsbury area. I've never played the course around there, but my friend did a couple of years ago and said it was a nice course. He also said theres a few blind shots where if you drive too far you may go through into the rough /trees. Also remembering him saying a cart is a must around there as its hilly.

The nearest course I've played to there is Lake Morey Resort in Fairlee (Exit 15 of I-91), played there a few times and its really nice. The course is mostly flat and stupidly is cheaper to play there at the weekend than my local course with the side slopes. Only draw back is that it's popular with out of staters so if usually very busywith people staying at the resort, played on a Sunday once and it took nearly 5 hours.

I do believe both have their own websites, I know the Lake Morey one has a layout of the holes as I printed them out once for a work tournament we had there.

Thanks.
I checked out the websites &... thinkin' I'll play St. Johnsbury.  I'll be about 20 minutes from there so it'll be nice & close.

If I remember correctly St. J used to be on the GolfNow website so might be worth checking that out nearer the time as I'm sure they had some low deals with a cart thrown in. I played Okemo Mountain where the ex Secretary or some bigwig from the PGA is based out of (Jim Remy maybe) and I got a deal off GolfNow with a cart for $20......its usually $70 just to walk, so well worth a look into the website.

Yup, I'm up on the golfnow tee time booking.  I've used it on vacation a couple times.  I'll be sure to check it out.
Thanks again.

Where in Vermont are you, Burlington by chance?

No, I'm about 2 hours South of Burlington, just north of Springfield. Anyone near the Burlington area that has played any of the golf courses around there? I played a course near Williston years ago that had three 9 hole courses, cant remember what it was called but it was nice.

I'll be in Vermont in July this year.  About an hour east of Burlington, I think.  Gonna get a round in when I'm up there tho...

Nice, I was a member at the local club thats 10 minutes from where i live last year as they were doing a deal of $500 for new members. Crown Point Country Club is a good course, but there are just too many side slopes for approach shots to be able to get into a good rhythm for high handicappers. I was trying to score under 90, closest I got was 91 and gave up lol.

My favorite local course is very hilly, alot of slopes (usually windy too).  & I do struggle on side slopes.

Are you familiar with any courses that would be closer to where I'll be?
(I'll be about 1-1/2 hours up north I91 from there).

The Golf Club / Re: game handicaps
Couldn't it have also "bumped out" one of his better handicap rounds?

Assuming he has 20 rounds & his oldest round was his best differential... & the new score was not as good.  He'd lost 1 of the 10 scores counting toward his handicap.

--or is the handicap really all bugged & messed up.  That's too bad if it is.  I like to play to try to improve my handicap.
