[F1] Season 19 - Round 1: Australian Grand Prix (08/01/18)

[glow=blue,2,300]Round 1: Australian Grand Prix

After a three week Christmas break, the 19th PSGL Formula 1 season is upon us. New drivers, new teams and a new grid of drivers head to Albert Park for the season opener. Reigning world champion Jamie-995 returns to Ferrari -- having driven for the Italian team in Season 13, alongside seven-time F1 champion BigC_019. Three-time F1 champion Irun makes the move to Renault, while season eight champion Remco Vengeance returns to the league with McLaren-Honda. Season 17 champion xJackLacey opted to divorce best friend GREENY-LFC over the break and partners the fast, but fragile Oogie_Azeem at Force India.

With overtaking nigh on impossible around the semi-street Albert Park circuit, qualifying will be even more important.

Catch all the action live with Gaming Alimonda and qprbeasts987 on January 8, at 8pm BST.

1.) Hopes and aims for the forthcoming season?

I'll just try and do what I've done the last 3-4 seasons in terms of being consistent and clean and see where it leads, but hopefully myself and Nic get a top 3 in the constructors. I really couldn't say what's realistic right now, it's going to be stupidly close.

2.) Top 3 finishers on Monday?

Cliffy, Oogie, BigC

3). Australia or Bahrain as the first race?

Australia.

4). Your main rival(s) this season?

Drivers wise, Nic and Ash for now. Constructors, I'll say McLaren and Force India. I would expect Ferrari and Mercedes to have a little bit of a gap to the rest.

Top 5 for sure. I'd like at least a win and many podiums, consistency is a weakness so hopefully I can the momentum going early

2. Top 3 finishers on Monday?
Big C, Oogie and myself in no particular order

3. Australia or Bahrain first race?
As a track I prefer Bahrain  but Australia is more suited and traditional

4. Your main rival(s) this season?
I'd say Cliffy, Oogie, Jack and Ash. Ones that spring to mind. Constructors has to be Mercedes and Force India

Q: 12th
Qualified on my first run, final run for invalidated so started P12

R: 6th
Had a very fun race and somehow managed to avoid all of the early carnage. I had chosen the Softs to start on and I made up a few positions at the start with good overtakes on Oogie and JD. Settled into my stint and battled hard with Irun for a number of laps. We touched in S3 and he came off worse. I’ve apologised but tbf i feel the move was fair but unfortunate.

In my final stint I chose the ultras and was setting fastest lap after fastest lap to try and catch ash. On lap 24 I managed to size ash up and take 5th from him with a tast move in T2, 3 and 4.

Eventually after pens I’d drop to 6th but had a lot of fun today. Look forward to Malaysia next week for another good race I hope.
