If it's the overall decision to go ahead with this idea and ensures closer racing then it's worthwhile. I just hope that it does not descend into elitist views and opinions due to certain licenses people have
Elitist views...  We're all mature enough here to know not to go around boasting about our licences and thinking we're superior compared to other drivers because of them.

Its a valid point Craig, but that will have to be dealt with if and when it arrises, whether across the leagues or with individuals. But that can't stop us trying something all the admins were in agreement with.

Keep things civil please, everyone.

Not biting Craig, if you have useful constructive criticism fair enough but they're silly points quite frankly (considering almost everyone disagrees with you so far that's pretty evident)

I'm not so certain you can speak for everyone there. It's a very big community, which contains many (some would say overly) competitive members. I'm not saying it's not an interesting idea, it is, I'm merely questioning how necessary it is and saying that it could potentially cause issues. Hopefully it doesn't and it just adds a nice bit of flavour, but people are allowed to raise valid concerns.
F1 Race Statistics and Achievements
Races Completed 48 - Points 312 - Pole Laps 8 - Wins 4 - Podiums 13 (probably not accurate anymore)

When did I say people couldn't raise concerns?

You didn't, others insinuated in that particular direction.

The thing is, you haven't actually raised any valid concerns.

All you have done is make vague conjecture.

What issues do you think could arise from this? You need to explain otherwise you don't really have a point at all.

It's a valid concern (even fish admitted so) that people who are perhaps overly competitive may use this as a way to segregate themselves from other members. It's a valid concern that this idea may not be entirely necessary and could end up being more trouble than it's worth. It's a valid concern that this is making the site more 'elitist' and less welcoming which had always been its main selling point. It's a valid concern that when anyone raised any issue they were ganged up on in droves.

Its not making it elitist, it creating tiers for drivers. It is only elitist if drivers feel the need to crow about a license, which says more about that driver than anything. We'll see how it goes, but thinking positive helps.

I'm not saying it was created with that intention, far from it, just that it has that potential. I hope that it works out just fine, but it's nice to have one or two people on the other side of the fence who question the decisions.

I'm glad my opinion doesn't carry as much weight as before.. however.

I welcome the changes, its fresh its dynamic it's different it gives people a standing in the community and where they are and also as incentive for driving standards the quality of license improves like Gran Turismo.

My boots, modestly put (irony) will always be hard to fill.. however these changes are of a fresh new thinking and I think the efforts of all involved should be applauded; however we all have opinions and should be taken on board that's without doubt.

The directors implemented change from a never been done before survey; they adjusted where possible, in the numbers the community spoke and asked for certain areas of PSGL F1 to kept they listened and it has!

Give it time and a chance; we pride ourselves on our leagues we always have my philosophy and thinkings are still there only tweaked to reach out to new racers and new generations to thrive in doing what we enjoy, racing here.. hassle free in the knowledge we are part of something.. a community.

Last but not least; race because you enjoy it.

Yeah it's a pity that when anything is questioned or challenged which I hope prompts discussion that some use it to fuel their own agenda against others.

Craig, discussion is welcomed. But i think people are a little bored of you constantly pushing your agenda, which you have so very often (drivers ages, speedtests etc.).

Personal attacks are wrong, and i won't accept it. But lets not dress your comments up as sweetness and light. Everyone seems to be coming at this with an agenda, and they shouldn't.

If this thread doesn't take a different tone soon i will be cleaning the thread and starting from scratch. I'm pretty pissed Dave and Macphee's announcement has been pissed all over.

I seriously don't understand the point being raised about segregation?

From what I understand that is how racing on this site happens. The leagues are divided (segregated) into groups of 20 each and then they form the grids of F1 to F6 and other formulas. They all already have separate (segregated) chats where they communicate. They already race on different (segregated) days.

What impact will the lisence have on that? None.

What impact will it have on the forum where everything league is still open for discussion for ALL members (not an elite group). Where we unite as a community and annoy each other with banter.

Has the lisence made any impact on your access to the forum? None.

If you actually read through the whole thing you will see that the ESSENCE of the lisence is to reward 4 things:
1. Experience (number of seasons)
2. Loyalty (number of forum interaction)
3. Dedication (showing up for races)
4. Performance

Of these, the first three are essential for building our community. And the liscence is directly catering to that.
