I'm baffled why anyone, anyone, would pay to go and see that cat film! But then I'm the kind of person who would put else bush cuttings in the flower beds!

Love a bit of Ray Donavan Plantsy, John Voigt is a particular highlight! Superb acting from everyone. Not sure where they will take it for the upcoming latest series. There can't be anyone left in Hollywood to go against.

nice to know someone has a bit of taste on here ;)

watched War Dogs the other night, takes a few liberties with the true story but could let it go as it was a good watch.

another film watched with the grand daughter was Kubo and the Two Strings, very nice and makes a change from the usual Toy Story rehashes

Just catching upon Breaking Bad spinoff Better Call Saul, slow burner at first wasnt sure but got well in to it now

got The Grand Tour recorded so be watching that later hopefully

Well that was the best thing the BBC have ever done in dropping Clarkson, cuz the Grand Tour was awesome. Brilliant opening sequence, you can tell Amazon have handed over the cheque book. It's basically Top Gear but with more umph

I really don't know how Top Gear will go from here now, feeling sorry for Matt LeBlanc because if the beeb don't do something drastic its gonna get panned big time

I enjoyed he first episode as well. Whilst it still had those painful scripted elements which ruined TG towards the end for me, it was very much about the cars and their passion for them. I hope this leaner show continues in future episodes.

Personally, I still see a future for Top Gear. If they could combine some fun light hearted stuff, but bring Chris Harris in to do some really beautifully shot car porn with his eloquent scripts, it could still be a great show. What it shouldn't be is the same format as the original by with different people. But I fear it will be this.

I went out yesterday and watched Doctor Strange and I cannot stress how awesome and breathtaking is this movie, even if you are not a fan of the Marvel Universe you should go out and watch it.

The special effects is on a complete different scale and so amazing, you have seen anything like it and the fight scenes are also breathtaking. If you are a Marvel fan then you won't be disappointed as this will be in your top 3 marvel movies and it does set the scene for the future movies leading to the ultimate battle in Infinity war

9/10

Got a slightly different view lol

I would put it in the "it was good but" category. While yes I think the effects were good just the story didn't do anything for me, just a well trodden man comes to his senses movie. Some of the scenes actually reminded me of Inception.
If you are a Marvel fan then you will love it, but for me that universe is starting to get a little stale while they "assemble" their cast heros in plot wafer-thin stories trying to cash in and keep us interested

Also court up with the latest Bourne film, and thought it was awful. Rehash of the bourne stories of him going for the bad man at the CIA again. A few fight scenes thrown in but mostly you just watch Jason Bourne and all the other characters walking around at a fast pace and looking over his shoulder ALL THE BLOODY TIME! in a infantile way to bump up tension - and no it does not

gonna watch Arrival later, hope I'm in a better mood  :21:

Well that's week 2 of the Grand Tour watched, and what a difference a week makes. Started kinda well with the Aston Martin Vulcan, but then the "American" got in it for its fast lap and it all went downhill. All I want him to do is drive the bloody car, I don't need a running commentary from him that everything outside the good old usa is communist and that pick up trucks are faster than anything europe can muster.

And then it went all proper Top Gear  :40:  An awful concocted and contrived hostage situation with supposed live ammo, wish they would just stop it as no one in their tiny mind would give Clarkson a real gun let alone bullets for it. Well I don't want to say anything else about it incase you haven't watched it yet, and infact I want others to sit through it then I will feel better for wasting 30 mins of my life knowing that others did too.

Totally not impressed with this weeks show

Watched The Accountant yesterday, not a bad film, probably best described as Rain Man with a gun. Ben Affleck plays your main man who has autism and a penchant for guns and revenge.
There's no deep meaning to it so enjoy it for the shooter that it is

Miss Peregrines Home For Peculiar Children - grand daughter liked it. For me it was ok, story decent enough but full of holes

Just finished watching season 4 of Ray Donovan, anyone else enjoy it? I love it

I also love Ray Donovan and everybody is awesome in it but Mikcy he kinda is genious :)

I couldn't disagree with anything you've wrote. Whilst it was mildly entertaining, and a little more comedic and risqué than the Beeb stuff, those contrived segments are exactly what put me off Top Gear towards the end. When it was good it was really good, but when it was bad ...

Anyone a Sherlock fan here? I am myself. Last nights episode had everything. I genuinely think it's one of the best things on tv. So fantastically written and unlike a lot of things on tv, with only three episodes a series it never leaves you bored. Anyone else in to it like me?

Ok managed to watch Arrival at last, and I liked it but really feel I shouldn't  :7:  So this film ain't Star Wars, no flashing light guns or magic space sticks that light up, what we have are dirty giant egg space ships that just float metres from the ground.
From the off the film is grim and moody, and you can tell it wants to be intellectual. So the film bases its whole story on why the aliens are here and to learn their language. Which is all good at the begining of the film but then the second half starts to drag.
Huge jumps in learning the language based on single human words being scribbled on whiteboards and the aliens complex language of circles that contain whole sentences made no sense at all. I know its Hollywood but even a stab at an explanation on how the language was worked out would have been nice. At some point a few soldiers go haywire and decide the aliens must die, feel this was shoe horned in to detract from the boredom and inject a little danger.
I would say give the movie a chance, I liked the idea behind it, but just wanted more, it didn't even end badly it was just a feeling of "oh is that it?"

Other film watched this weekend was Trolls! Grand daughter talked me into watching it :29:  But I thought it was quite good :13: Of course it would be better watching it with a young spawn cuz if you're caught on your own singing along you may have to explain yourself. Well Trolls is now my new guilty pleasure since Frozen  :8: :3:

When does it start, next week? Will whack that on Sky Plus.

Have been watching the Badlands on Amazon of late.
