I don't know much about specs these days, but i do know that for 730 you should be able to build a hell of a system. Are you just buying tower components, or do you need to get a new a monitor etc.

I'll message Three-Socks, i know he just built a new system.

These specs are really good, and pretty simular to mine. I use my Laptop for gaming and it has been working absolutely flawless so far.

I think Intel Core i7 is the best you can get atm.  ;)

Thoughts?

EDIT: i have a budget of 730

It's a nice PC:-

16GB memory wouldnt go amiss, but not absolutely essential
GTX 950 might save some nice pennies if you are only planning on 1920x1080p - this GPU is optimised for that resolution, above that forget it - GTX 960 is better.
Triple screen - GTX970 is minimum as is 16GB.
To future proof it, 600/650W would be better.
Make sure SATA is 6GB/s not 3GB/s. Just use SSD for Op Sys. I have SSD but not sure if two SATA6's would be pretty much as good and save cash.
Windows 7 infinitely superior to Windows 10 but wont support next version DirectX.

This looks OK at a glance (needs Windows):-

Thanks for the link. Actually getting my pc off mesh computes, theyre offering me a free upgrade to the 960 instead of the 950. As far as Memory goes, i can always install it at a later date. So whats better at 1920x1080 resolution, gtx 950 or 960? regardless of price.

There must surely be massive cooling compromises sticking what i assume are relatively high end components in such a small chassis as that??? Great form factor and size though, i'd just have worries about over heating.

I did once worry about the overheating, but it has 2 fans, One Large one at the front and one medium sized at the back,a CPU Cooler and its designed in a way that it has smooth airflow running through the case, So hopefully, it wont be a problem

That's why laptops tend to go bang before desktops and why a GTX980M (laptop version of GTX980) is about 30% down on power. The top spec desktops use liquid cooling these days like a car.

I'd be more worried about the noise than the cooling aspect, I took option to have extra quiet fans and definitely well worth it - don't think EBay will give you that option though but you could contact the seller.

You actually build it as well? Good work!
Does that have a monitor within that budget?

Yeah and I built it too! That was no monitor in that price! We do have one at the moment, but will be upgraded at a later date!

The thing is, he thinks he is just getting the components for xmas.  I have all the empty boxes to wrap up lol
He has no idea that it's all ready to go!
When he got a PS3 a few years back, he ran upstairs with tears of joy! So who knows what will happen with this!

Lol Sounds fantastic. Is he quite young then? I'll have to send you a list of components and get then delivered. ;)

I've turned this into an actual PC building discussion area, somewhere to talk about specs and ask questions.
