iRacing Discussion

Hi guys, I've been looking at Iracing over the past few days and wondering if anyone here has it and there opinion on it. It looks good fun but not sure on it. It's also quite pricey! I've always had an eye on it.

Please get back to me if you can

Thanks!

You need to be very committed, its takes very professionally even from what I've seen there is sponsorships, most importantly make sure you have a high performance computer.

I'm only wanting to have a bit of fun with it, Nothing serious. I just want a bit of muck around. When you say high performance PC what do you mean? How powerful?

Thanks for the help btw!!

I got Iracing and my god, It's fantastic!! The feel of the cars are awesome and the wheel, It's amazing!

I'm ruining at 84FPS. If that's good I've not a clue but I'm using a laptop with a HDMI cable to my TV. I got the game for $12 for 3 months which is about £7.

A friend of mine has started to play this, and bought a high end pc, and from scratch made a rig for it all!

Like others have said its very realistic, been to his a few times,  any little movement will send you off the racing line!

Pic of his rig

Next time im there I will record some footage and post here

Been playing simraceway the last few days.  Not saying it is an amazing game visually but the feeling through the wheel is just a million time better than any PS game (including GT).  Iracing probably even better!

Yeah I agree with that, visually it's not great but it feels great!

my only problem is you have to pay for extra cars and tracks like silverstone or brands hatch and there $14 a track/car!

That rig is awesome!!

One thing Iracing has struck me with so far is it's very strict. You are shown the rules every 5mins and it's very clear on them. No contact or else, But i tell you, Every race I've been in has been very clean and fair. I'm really enjoying it so far. I love it how once you pass the checkard flag you must drive the car back to the pits and that the start you have to disengage the clutch, It's great!!

Only problem, I paid $12 for 3months and for that you get 8/9 tracks, 5 of which are ovals and you get 9/10 cars, Mainly slower cars but good fun. To get more tracks and cars you got to pay $14 a track/car! It's expensive. I have got $10 of credit on at the moment as apparently someone said i recommended them to Iracing!

I have only done free practice on there with a gt porsche, but he is in the middle of a mx5 championship, and the more races he does goes towards gaining better licenses,  to get better races.  Any mistakes he makes such as crashes etc points get deducted from his licence.

So it encourages clean driving,  otherwise you will never progress!

He has also just bought a sequential shifter too now thats not in the pic!

Not sure if you saw, but he had his phone as a dash showing speed, gear, rev's.  And a tablet showing brake and throttle levels!

Has a sparco racing seat with butt kickers under the seat and behind the pedals! You feel every bump in the road.
