Formula 2 Gran Premio De Espana Pirelli 2017

Welcome, driver of Formula 2 to the 4th race of the season. In a wet Russian Qualifying and a semi wet race which saw Beasthas' championship lead take a slight hit as Cliffy rushed to victory ahead of his teammate Michaelangelo. Now we head to the Spanish sun, where Cliffy and Michaelangelo hope to continue to take the fight to the Mclaren of Beasthas.

Unfortunatelly there was no commentator available last time out so let's take a look at the season so far.

The 2017 Spanish Grand Prix was a Formula One motor race held on 14 May 2017 at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Montmeló, Spain. The race was the fifth round of the 2017 2017 season and marked the forty-seventh running of the Spanish Grand Prix as a World Championship event since the inaugural season in 1950, and the twenty-seventh time that a World Championship round had been held at Catalunya.

3. What is the best Spanish GP You've seen in your life?

Last time out it was Beasthas who showed his dominance by driving off the distance and leaving the likes of ERL_Falcon and Remco Vengeance far behind him. Now we move to the Chinese circuit of Shanghai, where many will be hoping to get back into the season after a sloppy opening race. With drivers like Falcan, Michael Angelo, Remco Vengeance, ParkwayDrive, Skeevan, Beasthas and Cliffy it is looking to be a very competetive grid. All drivers will be hoping for their own glory, but in the end there can only be one winner. Who will take an early lead in the championship as the Formula 2 circus moves to the desert in Bahrain.

Formula 2 Pre Season - Australia, Melbourne

Welcome everyone to the Formula 2 Pre Season Thread.

As last season the Formula 2 season reached an all time low after many drivers abandoned the Formula 2 league to pursuit their dream to race in Formula 1. It was up to Remco Vengeance to lend Formula 2 a hand and make it a top tier league again. With a succesful line up with 20 drivers getting ready to face the new season and all hopeful to claim the Formula 2 Championship title. The line up sees some familiar faces in this league with the likes of Remco, Parkway, Skeevan, Beasthas and JohnnyR95. Also plenty of rookies hoping to make their mark on this grid to keep their place for next season.

Let's take a lap around the Albert Park circuit onboard with Lewis Hamilton

Questions

1) What will you try to achieve this season?
2) Who do you think are the championship contenders this season?
3) Have you adapted well to the new 2017 Cars?
4) Would you like to see points awarded for Pole position and Fastest lap?

Race and Lobby settings

Race lobby - The Race lobby will open at 7.45pm (GMT), and will be hosted by your league admin, unless it has been agreed to let someone else host. The session will start at 8.05pm (GMT) at the earliest and 8:15pm (GMT) at the latest. Please be on time or the session may start without you.

Any driver who has a prior commitment (e.g work) should contact the league admin to make special arrangements if possible. Any decision to delay the race session will be made by the respective league admin.

Car Selection -  It is up to each member to make sure they are in the right car. Failure to start the session the right car will lead to a penalty after the race.

Chat Room – The League admin will also set up and invite all drivers to a text chat. Please join as it may be used to relay important information during the session and to the drivers.

Headsets – Sensible use of the microphone is permitted during qualifying and the race, but please be aware that drivers are trying to concentrate and do not use offensive language. Any instances of abuse will result in a punishment (eg a race ban)

Race Format - All PSGL F1 races run a short qualifying session of 12 minutes, followed by a race of 50% distance, with the weather set to dynamic. Vehicle Damage will be set to simulation.

Race Rules (eg Realistic, reduced) - The rules of the event are set by the admins of the league but they must stay consistent throughout the duration of the league.

Calendar - The Race Calendar will be published by the F1 directors before the start of the new season.
This season's Calendar is:

The league admin will post the race results after the race. Points will then be added then be added to the Drivers & Constructors Championship standings.

Race day event

Going to Track - Please do not press go to track, this is the responsibility of the host. Please wait for the signal from the Admins to go to track.

Tyres - During a dry race, all drivers are required to use both the “Option” & the “Prime” tyre at some point. Failure to do so will result in disqualification. If wet tyres are required during a race, this rule no longer applies.

Formation Lap - All drivers are requested to take the formation serious, failing to stay in position during the formation lap or brake test another driver might result in a penalty.

Race Start/First Lap – Drivers are requested to take extra care to avoid contact on the first lap of the race and avoid sudden movements.

Driving – Drivers are expected to drive in a sensible manner with good racing etiquette and respect for their fellow competitors at all times.

Corner Cutting/Track Extending - All cars must keep two wheels within the track limits at all times. The Boundaries are clearly marked by the white lines. This also applies to pit lane entry & exit at every circuit. Consistently breaking track limits could result in a penalty.

Retirements - If you wish to retire from the race, you should find a safe place to pause the game and retire from the session (e.g the pits). You MUST NOT deliberately destroy your car in order to retire. Doing so may result in a penalty.

Disconnections:

During Qualifying - If someone disconnects after 5 minutes of Qualifying has gone, the League admins will set up a new lobby immediately so the qualifying Session can be restarted.

If someone disconnects after 5 minutes they will carry on until the end of Qualifying. After that the League Admins will set up a new lobby to perform a Safety car restart. If the person who has disconnected has already set a time it does not count.

After Qualifying – If someone disconnects in between qualifying and the race, the League Admins will set up a new lobby to perform a Safety car restart. Qualifying results will stand.

[ Disconnection Weather Settings - Weather settings for the new race lobby will be based on the original race conditions ]

Safety Car Restarts – When a SC Restart is required, every driver is expected to get into their grid positions gained through the qualifying session on the first lap. Any driver who disconnected before the end of qualifying will start from the back of the grid. All drivers must use the same compound tyre they qualified on - starting on a different tyre than you qualified on will lead to a penalty.

The session will be restarted a maximum of 3 times. after the 3rd time the session will continue

During the race – If you DC after 50% distance, you will be classified and receive the points as per your position on the results screen at the end of the race. If you DC before 50% or quit deliberately at any time you will receive no points.

Lobby Collapse/Split Lobby - In the event of a mass disconnection or the lobby splitting in two, you should continue to race and await further instruction from your league admin. It is at their discretion to decide what to do.

After the race you are expected to post a race review of your race and upload footage if you have any.

Lag Start - If you lose connection during the qualifying event and rejoin for the race the game will sometimes give you a lag start for the race. If this occurs please reduce your speed at the start to reduce the time gained so it is equal. Fail to do this and you may receive a penalty.

Streaming

Streaming is not permitted to anyone who is racing. Only commentators may stream (maximum of 2). This is to prevent lag during the race.

Golden Rules of Racing

• It is the responsibility of the overtaking driver to ensure that the pass is made cleanly and incident-free

• If the overtaking driver is fully alongside (wheel-to-wheel) the driver being overtaken as the cars enter the braking zone, then the corner is awarded to the overtaking driver and it is the responsibility of the driver being overtaken not to turn into his opponent.

• If the overtaking driver is not fully alongside a competitor as they enter the braking zone, the corner does not belong to the driver attempting the pass and it is their own responsibility to give the other driver room and ensure there is no contact.

If a driver is being lapped, they are forbidden to unlap themselves unless the driver becomes considerably slower, pits or has a racing incident. Unlapping yourself may result in a penalty.

Obviously, a corner being “awarded” to a driver does not mean that the other driver has to give way. It is merely a way of apportioning responsibility to one or the other driver to ensure there is no contact made between racers.

Any driver found guilty of knowingly breaking these rules 3 or more times during a race will face disciplinary charges after the race.

Finally, if all drivers race well and maintain respect for one another then no situations should arise where disciplinary action is needed. These rules have only been drawn up as a last resort to resolve disputes between drivers if we need to.

Defending - More than one change of direction to defend a position is not permitted. If a driver has moved off the racing line while defending their position, they may move back but must ensure there is at least one car’s width between their own car and the edge of the track.

In addition, drivers must make every reasonable effort to use the track at all times and may not deliberately leave the track without a justifiable reason

Incidents and penalties

If you feel unfairly treated by another members actions on track or off track then you may report it in the stewards thread. You must have evidence of what you are reporting. Use the template:

League F1/F2/F3/F4/F5/FA/F1NAC/FP
What happened:
How did it affect your race:
Did the driver rectify the issue:

The stewards have the right to impose a penalty on any driver who is found to be breaking a rule. These can vary from:
- Warning
- Reprimand (see below)
- Time penalties between 5-30 seconds
- Disqualification from the race results
- Qualifying ban for the next race
- Race ban for the next race
- Removal from the league (agreement from F1 director and the applicable league admin required)

Reprimands: If a driver accumulates 3 reprimands in one season, a further penalty will be applied.  The type of penalty is at the discretion of the stewards.

A combination of penalties can also be applied (for example disqualification from current race + qualifying ban for the next race).

Time penalties can be applied to either the current race results, or can be carried over to the next race.

A suspended penalty can also be applied (for example only a warning may be issued for a minor incident, but a suspended race ban can be given, meaning that a repeat incident at the next race automatically results in a race ban).

Our stewards for this season are:
HumanFish
Mrgrumpy
Jake-lfc
Shortbread24

You may also receive a penalty for abuse be it verbal or in text. This will not be tolerated here under any circumstances!

The stewards will post their findings in the stewards office. If it's decided a penalty is necessary the league admin will inform the driver affected by PM, then the rest of the league in the relevant/next race thread and amend the race results/standings accordingly.

Additional notes

Things that may of been missed

Track extending - Drivers will be judged to have left the track if no part of the car remains in contact with it and, for the avoidance of doubt, any white lines defining the track edges are considered to be part of the track but the kerbs are not. Should a car leave the track the driver may re-join, however, this may only be done when it is safe to do so and without gaining any lasting advantage. At the absolute discretion of the race stewards a driver may be given the opportunity to give back the whole of any advantage he gained by leaving the track.

Our staff past and present have worked hard to make the PSGL F1 Leagues the very best on the web. Our league structure gives everyone, regardless of ability, the chance to race in a fun, competitive environment.

We are all about respect, both on and off the track and encourage everyone to engage with the community as much as possible.

Welcome to the PSGL Formula 1 Stewards’ Office.

In here, we will outline the general process for reviewing any race incidents which may require further discussion and action.

Drivers must post in a mature manner, any derogatory posts which involve finger pointing, instigating an argument, or any abusive posts, will be deleted and the appeal rejected.

1. Guidelines

- Drivers should post video evidence of any incident occurring between themselves and other drivers.  If the video is long or covers more than just the incident in question (more than a couple of minutes, e.g. a live stream) then the specific times of the incidents in the video must be given.

- Drivers, and only drivers, should post any evidence within 48 hours of their race. Appeals will not be considered after this point.

- Use the following template for reporting incidents:

      Video Link:
      Time of Incident in Video:

      League F1/F2/F3/F4/F5/F6/FC/FE/FP:
      Explain What happened:
How did it affect your race:
Did the driver rectify the issue:

- Time penalties due to game glitches (e.g. illegal overtake penalties under false yellow flag) should be resolved with the league admin, not the stewards.

- In-game applied time penalties for corner cutting will not be removed unless under exceptional circumstances.

- The stewards will post decisions publically in the thread.  It is the responsibility of the league admins and affected drivers to check the stewards office thread for penalties applicable to themselves or their league.

- In exceptional circumstances the stewards can intervene and apply actions/penalties if an incident occurs but is not officially reported or appealed by another driver, e.g. if something is observed whilst viewing other footage or a race stream.

2. Appointed PSGL Formula 1 League Stewards

The appointed PSGL Formula 1 League Stewards are:
- HumanFish

3. Actions/Penalties Available

Depending on the severity of an incident, the stewards can apply the following penalties:

4. Notes for the Stewards:

- Stewards are responsible for regularly checking the Stewards Office thread on the forum and initiating group discussions using the private messaging system.  The F1 Director, the relevant league admin, and drivers involved with incidents can be consulted as necessary.

- As the stewards volunteer their own time and not everyone can be available all the time, if at least 2 stewards can agree on a decision and actions or penalties to be applied (assuming that the other stewards have not responded or objected to the decision), the decision can be considered final and posted publically.

- Stewards should not contribute to the decision making for leagues in which they race themselves (e.g. if you are a racer in F2 and an incident is reported for F2, you cannot be involved in determination of actions/penalties). They are however still entitled to comment and provide evidence for that league and incidents involving themselves.

- It is the stewards job to contact the appropriate league admin to inform them off the penalty for the driver in their league.

Formula 2 League (F2) / [F2 2017] Introduction to Licenses
« on: August 26, 2017, 07:45:27 am »
Hello members of Formula 2,

As the new season approaches the admins and the directors have agreed to introduced the licensing for this season. The whole F1 team has had an input on it and we are very proud of our work. We are introducing a licence concept for the whole F1 section. Every driver will be awarded a racing licence, each licence will allow you to access certain leagues and events. Each licence has a number of criteria for it which you will need to have met to obtain it. To earn the licence above you must meet at least 3 of the criteria to progress onto the next licence. Below is the licence system in full as created by our F1 team, I think it's easier to explain by looking at it rather than me rambling on. expect more bit's of criteria to be added.

-All new sign ups
-Held for 5 races
-Entry to F5, F6, FP and FE.

-All drivers that have successfully passed probation
-Entry to F4 and F3 after a season in F5/F6 (Approved By Admins/Directors)
-Current F4/F3 drivers
-High forum activity

Finished top 3 in either F3/4
-Raced in 2 seasons without missing more than 8 races.
-High activity on forum (Pre race questions and Paddock posts)
-Current F2 drivers
-Entry to F2
-High forum activity

-Significant show of pace in lower formulas
-Top 3 finish in F2
-High Forum activity
-Must of participated in at least 3 seasons
-Drivers Title -
-Current F1 Grid
-Entry into F1

-Significant member of the community
-Notable Achievements
-Must be selected by directors
-Can be nominated by admins

In This thread you can see which licence you have been given. Please keep in mind that these are handed out by the league admins and will be updated at the end of the current season.

When awarding a licence we look at the amount of activity on the forum, how clean you are as a driver and your off track behaviour.

In order for you to gain a better licence, make sure to stay active on the forum, keep it clean on the track and keep a cool head off track!

Any questions you have about the licences handed out or about the overall system please let me know.

- Remco Vengeance

Welcome to the Formula 2 Paddock Club

The Formula 2 Championship is a form of open wheel motor racing.

Designed to make racing affordable for the teams and to make it the perfect training ground for life in PlaystationGL, Formula 2 has made it mandatory for all of the teams to use the same chassis, engine and tyre supplier so that true driver ability is reflected.
